NTP-033_A053 - NTP ECO kit Rev 3.3 for MultiNet V5.3A 4-Nov-2011

    This kit updates MultiNet V5.3 Rev A and MultiNet V5.2 Rev A with a new
    version of NTPD.EXE, NTPDATE, NTPDC, NTPQ, NTPTRACE and NTP_LIBLOCK for
    MultiNet for OpenVMS (VMS/VAX V5.5-2 and later, VMS/Alpha V6.1 and later,
    VMS/Integrity V8.2 and later). 
  
    The ranking for this ECO is 3.
    The overall ranking for it is 0 (NTP-020_A053).

    The following changes have been made in this kit:
    - Don't set SYS$TIMEZONE_NAME if the MULTINET_TIMEZONE is a single letter
      military timezone name. Also deal with some differences between MultiNet
      names and VMS names.

    - Correct errors in updating DTSS$TIMEZONE_DIFFERENTIAL and
      remove code to set the TDF that was in NTP-030_A053.
      Setting the TDF was causing problems in some timezones.

    - Update DTSS$TIMEZONE_DIFFERENTIAL and SYS$TIMEZONE.DAT when
      set_vms_logicals is included in the configuration.

    - Make "tinker step 0" (which forces slewing instead of stepping) nullify
      the daily setting of time of day that set_clock_daily will cause.

     -  Correct a potential denial of service attack.

     -	NTPQ and NTPDC now try each of the answers returned by getaddrinfo
	until they successfully establish a connection or run out of answers.
	For MultiNet V5.2 this also requires KERNEL-UPDATE-150_A052 or later
	be installed.
